Vista Windows Update Svchost Memory Leak Virus

Arch linux automated install. A: Like I said, debtap is focused on accuracy. So, why this is happening?

I have a Dell Inspiron LapTop, purchased in Sept 09, with 3 Meg RAM. It came loaded with Vista Home Premium. I use Panda Anti-Virus and have since done the Windows 7 upgrade, at which time I updated Panda to the compatible version. I had a memory leak problem with Vista and thought it would go away with Windows 7 but nothing changed.
If I turn on my computer and leave in on, in approx 6 hours, I will get a warning window saying 'memory low', shut down programs. This will occur whether I have started any applications or not. I have gotten to a point where I regularly keep an eye on the Task Manager, to keep an eye on memory usage, so I can reboot prior to the memory reaching 90+%, where the computer locks up and you must hard reboot.
I have uninstalled almost all of the Startup programs and have uninstalled all of the Dell loaded utilities to keep memory usage at a minimum. When I start the computer memory usage will be at 26% and will gradually creep up from there, regardless of any activity on the computer.
The problem is that without any applications open, Windows keeps creating 'srvchost.exe' files to the point that it wipes out all of the memory.
I need to be able to leave my computer on for long periods of time and this is the first time I have ever experienced this problem. It's uncalled for, that Windows needs to keep starting up files in the background, when there is no activity going on with the computer? I have two Windows XP computers running in similar configurations and they have never had a memory usage issue.
Thanks for your help, -Tim
